Working together to decarbonise the DIY sector
Welcome to Make it Zero. A Scope 3 emissions initiative by the DIY sector, developed by EDRA/GHIN (European DIY Retailers Association and the Global Home Improvement Network).
As an industry, we are in a unique position to tackle sustainability on three fronts: in our own business, together with our suppliers, and also in the lives of our customers.
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges the world faces today and must be tackled by everyone with strong collaborative action. Tackling climate change requires companies to decarbonise their entire value chain, including their scope 3 emissions.
The Make it Zero initiative brings together DIY retailers and suppliers from around the world to collaborate and scale scope 3 decarbonisation initiatives. Make it Zero provides these companies with the tools and network to engage with their supply chains to calculate and reduce scope 3 emissions.
“Now is the time for action and I would encourage everyone in our industry to commit and get involved. By coming together to take on the critical Scope 3 challenge, we can forge a path towards a future that is low-emissions, positive for our businesses and our planet.”
Thierry Garnier President EDRA/GHIN, CEO Kingfisher.
"Climate change is a threat none of us can afford to ignore. For home-improvement retailers, this is a positive move where we can help them find ways to come together to address one of the fundamental environmental issues for our planet, while developing their business."
